Everyone in my family now looks forward to game night thanks to Jackbox

Source: Jeramy Johnson / Android Central If the past few months of social distancing and quarantine have taught this introvert anything, it's that I really miss get-togethers with friends and family. Even silly things like Friday night trivia at a local bar or playing Cards Against Humanity with friends in the neighborhood sound like extravagant getaways to me right now. My family has been pretty good about making time for fun when we can during this gloomy period, and we've even cracked open the occasional old board game like Monopoly or Sorry a few times. Still, as classic as those games are, they've just become tired. Since we've all been cooped up working from home or preparing for final exams, we just want something fun, fresh, and not overly mentally taxing to entertain us. Thankful...

Apple Reportedly Set to Pull Thousands of iOS Games From App Store Over Chinese Licensing Issue

Image: GizmodoApple is reportedly gearing up to pull thousands of games from its App Store in China because they lack licenses from Chinese regulators, a move that could see the removal of popular games like Grand Theft Auto.Citing sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reported Monday that the crackdown on unlicensed games will begin in July. Potentially tens of thousands of games that are paid for or offer in-app purchases will be removed, per China’s regulatory policy that was initially introduced in 2016 and strengthened last year over concerns of gaming addiction and offensive content. The review processes can be lengthy, however, as regulators vet games for things like depictions of violence. The crackdown will almost certainly target unlicensed but wildly popular games like Gran...

Most parents never check their children’s devices [Video]

Most parents never check their children's devices Teens and Privacy: Should I Spy on My Child? By James Lehman, MSW Parents often wonder how much privacy their children need and ask me if it’s okay to violate it. Personally, I believe there should be a direct link between the amount of responsibility, consistency, and honesty that kids show and the amount of privacy they’re allowed to have. But, before we get to the subject of spying on your child, I want to talk a little about our kids and their need for privacy as they grow. Young Kids and Privacy When a child is little, there is virtually no separation. Think about it, children are typically held by their parents or caregivers for substantial portions of the day. There is even a popular parent...

How to Help a Clingy Child Play Independently

Your clingy child won't play independently? In this post, you'll learn how play therapists help increase kids capacity for play – and how you can too at home.   A parent I was working with once said, “My child would still want more from me if I was watching over her and doing nothing else for 24 hours per day!” What parent doesn’t feel that way?! Children have a huge need for our undivided attention, and an appetite for us that can never be completely filled. But to stay sane and be able to parent from a centered place, parents need times when they aren’t focusing on their kids. Parents need breaks too. So how can you meet your child’s needs for play and your attention? When is it reasonable to ask them to play on their own? What do you do when they can’t play without you? Let’s star...

5 Ways to Improve Customer Loyalty Marketing with Social Media

Customer loyalty marketing is more important today than ever. Given the current global situation, many businesses are rethinking or reinvesting in their social media marketing strategies, as they make the shift from brick-and-mortar to digital. There are a few other things that have never been more important: customer retention and brand loyalty. As discussed in my previous article, loyalty marketing centers on retaining existing customers, rather than acquiring new ones. When it comes to customer loyalty marketing, there is no shortage of ways social media can be utilized for: – increasing FOV (frequency of visit) – upsizing ATV (average transaction value) – strengthening the emotional connection between businesses and customers Social media is one of the many touchpoints between busines...
